On February 25, the 50MWac Kuala Ketil Solar PV EPC Project in Kedah, Malaysia, which was jointly executed by Energy China Tianjin Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd (TEPC) and Fujian Yongfu Power Engineering Co., Ltd.(Yongfu), was achieved COD (Commercial Operation Date) certificate by Energy Commission of Malaysia, marking the project was put into commercial operation ahead of the schedule. At present, the performance indexes of all the energized equipment are normal, meeting the design standards, and the power generation equipment operates safely and stably.

The 50MWac Kuala Ketil Solar PV project covers an area of 260 acres, with the PV array consisting of 25 power generation units and 180,000 PV modules. It is currently the first large-scale ground photovoltaic power project in Malaysia that has been put into operation before the timetable as agreed in the contract, with measured power generation performance up to the standard and the most economical configuration. The project is also one of the Malaysia's largest solar power stations. It is expected to produce 78.4 GWh electricity per year, reducing 36,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year in Malaysia and bringing clean energy to the Belt and Road countries.During the construction, Yongfu Power closely cooperated with TEPC and all the subcontractors involved.

Yongfu’s design team strictly implemented IEC international standard as agreed under the EPC Contract. Facing stringent design requirements and review standard of the Employer and the Employer's Engineer, the project team fulfilled commitments and rationally allocated resources and successfully completed engineering design relying on many years of experience in photovoltaic design and overseas project management, which was hailed by the Employer, Employer's Engineer and CGN executives.

By February 25, 2019, HSE had achieved a total of 434,900 safe working hours on the site, with the record of zero environmental pollution, zero injury or casualty and zero report of health problem.

The purchase of equipment coincided with the adjustment of Malaysia's national import taxes and dues. The project team made active cooperation with Yongfu headquarters’ procurement dept. to promote the manufacturers’ production of equipment and organized the Employer and OE to supervise the equipment manufacturing in the factory meanwhile, freight shipment and transportation were reasonably arranged. In less than 4 months, the project team completed the procurement and shipment of 180,000 PV modules,1,200 inverters and other equipment, which has ensured the construction milestone, reduced the expenditure on taxes and dues and the project cost.

The 50MWac Photovoltaic EPC Project in Kedah, Malaysia is an exemplary project  undertaken by Yongfu Power in following China’s “the Belt and Road Initiative” and international strategy, providing the employer with professional and high-quality project consultation, management, technical services and commitments.
