China's first offshore wind farm with water depth over 40m starts construction

On December 15, the ground-breaking ceremony was launched for the onshore centralized control station for Changle offshore wind farm project (Zone A and Zone C) in Songxia Town, Changle District, Fuzhou City, marking the official commencement of the construction of the offshore wind farm with water depth over 40m, the first of its kind in China.

The survey and design of the project are undertaken by Fujian Yongfu Power Engineering Co., Ltd. (Yongfu). A delegation headed by Liu Yong, Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer attended the ground-breaking ceremony.

Changle offshore wind farm is located in the sea off the east coast of Changle District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, of which, Zones A and C are 32~40km and 31~50km of the coast, with an average water depth of 39~42m and 36~45m and a planned installed capacity of 300MW and 500MW, respectively. Both Zone A and Zone C are designed with one 220kV offshore substation and one onshore centralized control stations.
